It’s time we become a true Canadian nation!
HRM Elizabeth Windsor is NOT a Canadian, and yet she is our head of state.
It’s time we move on as a Canadian nation, and institutionalize our own Canadian Head of State.
PLENTY of options, that will keep our identity unique and special.This hogwash that we will become more American is total nonsense.
Many people don’t realize that the rule of the King/Queen in Canada, (keeping the same model we have used) actually violates our Charter! The Act of Settlement forbids succession if they’re:Roman Catholic, Jewish, Hindu (to name a few).
With the Nickle Resolution, we don’t even allow our own people..(Subjects) to be titled with a peerage, (except with Prime Minister’s consent, and we know what happened the last time, eh Lord Black)
With Charles coming to the reign shortly, already many people speculate that he will be the last Monarch, as the monarchy in UK could collapse…..Canada as it stands has no constitutional process or convention to safeguard the transition. We need one. A typical toast in the Privy Counsel won’t due!
We can ALWAYS remember our heritage and be proud that we evolved as our own nation, from the help of our parents in Britain.
WAKE UP CANADA….We say we’re our own nation??THEN ACT ON IT! Let’s be TRUE Canadians!
